IMF Leader Arrested For Harassment

The leader of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which also has the potential to become a candidate for president of France was asked off the plane when going to Paris and questioned by police related reports of sexual harassment against an employee of the hotel.


Dominique Strauss-Kahn is derived from an Air France plane at John F. International Airport Kennedy by officers from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He was later handed over to police on Saturday afternoon local time (05/14/2011), said Paul J. Browne, a spokesman for the New York Police Department.



According to 32-year-old victim, the incident of abuse occurred when she entered the room Strauss-Kahn at the Sofitel near Manhattan Times Square at about 13 noon on Saturday. Suddenly Strauss-Kahn emerged from the bedroom to undress, then pushed him and tried to make sexual activity. After a struggle, the victim managed to escape and ran to report to the hotel staff what had happened. The hotel then called the police. 

When police arrived a few moments later, Strauss-Kahn was gone from the hotel, but he left his cell phone and other personal items. "Apparently he went in a hurry," said Browne.

Police later found him at the airport and contact Airport Authority, which is then lowered Kahn of an Air France plane that was ready to leave.

The hotel employees who are victims had been brought police to a local hospital. John Sheehan, a spokesman for the hotel, said his staff is ready to cooperate with the authorities in the investigation.

William Murray, a spokesman for the IMF in Washington, said the IMF could not comment on the arrest report Strauss-Kahn.
